In short
- Qi is the base wireless charging standard. Qi2 adds magnetic alignment and is backward compatible with Qi. MagSafe is Apple's magnetic system for iPhone.
- A Qi2 charger charges a Qi-only phone at basic Qi rates, without the magnetic snap. Full Qi2 speed needs Qi2 on both the charger and the phone.
- Wireless charging speed is set by the lower of the charger's output and the phone's maximum wireless input — and the charger's own power adapter must be strong enough.

“Qi2 Ready” phones support Qi2 charging but have no built-in magnets; they need a magnetic case for the snap. Wattage labels such as “Qi2 25W” describe the charger's maximum, not what every phone receives.

Evidence limitations
- Qi2 is only stated as shared when both products are verified for Qi2; a “Qi2” product name alone is not evidence.
- MagSafe is never assumed from Qi2 support (or the reverse); MagSafe vs Qi2 alone is not treated as decisive.
- Wireless power alone is never enough to answer: without a shared, verified wireless standard the answer is “Unknown”.
- Manufacturers publish maximum figures; real charging speed also depends on temperature, alignment, case and power adapter.
